Science Week

Welcome to our school's page dedicated to celebrating this year's British Science Week with a special focus on bees! At Peover, we are passionate about environmental education and promoting sustainability. This year, we decided to put the spotlight on bees to support our ongoing Bee-Friendly initiatives.

Bee-Tacular Dress-Up Day

To kick off the week, children came to school dressed as bees or wearing yellow and black attire, symbolising the vibrant colours of these incredible pollinators. We encouraged children to participate by donating £1 towards our Bee Friendly fund, which supports the purchase of plants and flowers to create a welcoming habitat for bees on our school grounds.

Guest Visit from a Local Beekeeper

As part of our celebrations, we were thrilled to welcome a local beekeeper to our school. They delivered an engaging assembly, sharing fascinating insights into the world of bees and the vital role they play in our ecosystem. Additionally, the beekeeper brought along fresh honey harvested from their hives, providing children with a delicious taste of nature's bounty.

Buzzing with Excitement!

British Science Week provided us with the perfect opportunity to deepen our understanding of bees and the importance of preserving their habitats. Through hands-on activities, informative sessions, and community involvement, we celebrated the wonder of these remarkable creatures while taking concrete steps to support their well-being.

Join us in our commitment to being Bee-Friendly! Together, we can make a difference for bees and the planet.
