AET Admissions Consultation Outcome - 2023-2024

The Aspire Educational Trust has consulted in line with the Admissions Code regarding amendments to admissions arrangements and the outcome and determined policy are available to download here. This policy will apply to all admissions between 1st September 2023 and 31st August 2024. It will be used for allocating places for September 2023 as part of the main admissions round for reception. Cheshire East's fair access protocol will be applied alongside the policy to secure admission of vulnerable pupils from specific groups.

How do I get a place for my child?

We welcome enquiries from parents of children at any age, and encourage you to visit us as many times as you wish with your child before they start school.  An open day is also held during the Autumn term each year to help parents make their choice for the following September. The admissions process is administered by Cheshire East Council and an application should be made before mid-January of the year your child is due to start school in September.

The deadline for entry into school for September 2023  has now passed. Offers will be made by Cheshire East Council on 17th April 2023 and all EYFS places are placed by Cheshire East Council.  Please click this link to go to the EYFS 2023 page of the website.

Admission for entry into school for September 2023 open on 1st September 2022. We will be holding several open days this year. Please check back regularly for dates.

When does my child have to start school officially?

Cheshire East Council’s admission policy for all its primary schools is as follows:-
“Any child reaching the age of 5 between 1st September and 31st August may be admitted full time to school on the first day of the Autumn term in September.”
We encourage parents to admit their child on the first day of the Autumn term as this does help children settle and make friends early on. We are very aware of the needs of young children and are flexible in our approach so that children feel happy and secure.

Appeals

Appeals for Reception Intake received by the closing date are normally held during May to July each year.   Please follow this link to read the Cheshire East appeals process.

Appeals lodged after these dates (late applications for appeal) will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

In year appeals must be lodged within 20 school days from the date of notification that the application for admission was unsuccessful. Appeals are normally heard within 30 school days from the date the completed appeal form is received. Notification of the appeal hearing will be sent to appellants 10 school days in advance of the hearing. If an appellant wishes to provide additional evidence, which was not included in their original application or appeal form, this must be received 5 working days before the hearing date. Otherwise the Panel is entitled to decide not to accept information or evidence submitted after that deadline.

You will normally be notified of the Panel’s decision in writing no later than 5 working days after the hearing being completed. Decisions of Appeals Panels are final and binding.
