Our Whole School Assembly Journey

Growing Together Through Care, Achieve and Believe

At Peover Superior Endowed Primary School, our assemblies are much more than a time to gather together. They form an important part of our Personal Development curriculum and help children understand themselves, build positive relationships and develop the confidence to make a difference in the world.

Our carefully planned assembly programme links together:

Throughout the year, children explore a series of "Big Ideas" that help them develop character, resilience, curiosity, kindness and leadership. Assembly themes are carefully linked to enrichment experiences, Mini Dukes challenges, collective worship, picture books and wider opportunities across school.

Our Journey Through the Year

Autumn 1 – Belonging

I belong.

Children explore what it means to be part of a community, celebrate differences and learn how to help everyone feel welcome.

Autumn 2 – Kindness, Respect and Community

I help others belong.

Children develop empathy, kindness and respect while exploring how their actions can positively impact others.

Spring 1 – Growth, Goals and Challenge

I can improve.

Children learn about resilience, perseverance and the importance of embracing challenges and learning from mistakes.

Spring 2 – Curiosity, Questioning and Discovery

I can explore.

Children develop a love of learning through asking questions, investigating ideas and discovering more about the world around them.

Summer 1 – Responsibility, Community and Making a Difference

I can contribute.

Children learn about responsibility, citizenship and how small actions can make a positive difference to their community and the wider world.

Summer 2 – Creativity, Challenge and Team Spirit

I can make my mark on the world.

Children celebrate their individuality, develop teamwork skills and reflect on their achievements as they prepare for future challenges.

Stories That Shape Our Thinking

Throughout the year, assemblies are enriched by a carefully chosen collection of picture books that provide a common language and shared understanding across the school.

These texts help children explore important themes such as belonging, kindness, confidence, responsibility, respect and celebrating diversity.

Bringing Values to Life Through Mini Dukes

Our Mini Dukes Passport provides meaningful opportunities for children to put learning into action. Through enrichment challenges and real-life experiences, children learn to:

• develop confidence and resilience;
• share their ideas and opinions;
• work collaboratively with others;
• contribute to their community;
• celebrate diversity;
• take responsibility for themselves and the world around them.

In this way, our children don't simply learn about values—they live them.
