Here it goes...2023-24!

Find out what we'll be learning about this half term!

Hello Chestnut Class (we're not Class 2 anymore)!

I hope you've had a lovely summer and you're raring to go for our new school year.  I had a great holiday on Anglesey and have also painted our baby's nursery ready for his or her arrival!

This half term, we will be joined by Miss Lloyd who is going to take over from me as your class teacher when I go on maternity leave.  It's great that she can join us from September because you'll get to know her really well (and she'll get to know you well too).

So what are we going to be learning?

Well, in English our class text is 'Fantastic Mr Fox' by the wonderful Roald Dahl.  We will be starting our unit by writing character descriptions before we move onto writing biographies.

In Maths, we are going to start with a short unit focusing on bridging through ten (Year 3) and a hundred (Year 4).  We will work on becoming fluent with the number facts within ten as well as ensuring we can quickly recall the five and ten-times tables.

In Science, our unit is 'Animals, including humans'.  In our Science lessons, we will be finding out about the skeleton, muscles and nutrition.  In Geogaphy, we will learn about where our food comes from and how it gets to our plate.  In Computing, we will be creating animations and making music.  In PSHE, we will be thinking about our responsibilities and why rules are important and in R.E, we're going to be finding out what different faiths believe about God.

Also coming up this term we have our Harvest Festival which I am really looking forward to!

Let's have a great first half term!
