Our first 2 weeks in Reception 2021

Wow! What a brilliant first two weeks we have had in Reception! 

 

We have been incredibly busy this last two weeks learning our new routines, exploring our new environment, making new friends and having lots of fun. This week we have started our Phase 2 Phonic sounds everyday, lots of name writing and our counting up to 5. 

 

We have also begun to start our 'Squiggle Whilst we Wiggle' - where we are focusing on using dance to help us practice our letter formation, and our fine motor skills. This week our song was Dancing Queen by Abba and we loved to dance along to this one! 

Over the next few weeks, we are going to continue with our Phase 2 sounds and begin to focus on each number more individually up to 5 to develop our Maths Mastery. We have lots of other exciting things planned too, such as starting French and P.E lessons, creating in our Art lessons and lots of outdoor play!
