Happy New Year Class 2!

I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas holiday and you are raring to go for our new half term!

In English, we are going to be starting a new class text: How the Stars Came to Be by Poonam Mistry.  Our link texts will be 'You're Snug with Me' and African Tales.

    

We will be using these texts as stimuli to write narratives and letters.

In Maths, we will finishing off our place value unit and then we will be moving onto addition and subtraction.  We will be continuing to focus on recalling multiplication facts, beginning with the 4 times table.

In the Wider Curriculum, we have lots of exciting learning too!  In Science, we will be learning about the digestive system, teeth and food chains.  In Computing, we will be focusing on 'To Connect' and learning how to be responsible online, how to report concerns and how to search effectively.  In PSHE, we will be answering the question 'How does the media and online world differ from reality?'  which will link in brilliantly with our Computing unit!  In Geography, we will be learning about Greece's homes and architecture, including how they differ to here in the U.K.  

  

It is set to be another great half term and I can't wait to get started!
