News from Class 2 - December

What a great month we have had! Read this blog to find out more!

In English we have continued with our non-fiction writing, focusing on explanation texts and instructional writing. The children have produced a super set of instructions to make a Christingle, which we made in RE one afternoon.

In Maths we have secured strategies for addition and subtraction, including mental methods, number lines and using column methods. We have solved lots of problems in the context of money and measures.

In Science we have started learning more about rocks and soils. As part of the wider curriculum, the children have done lots of cross curricular writing about the local area and the Christmas story.

We have enjoyed being part of all things festive this month. The Carol Concert at Colshaw Hall was amazing and I was incredibly proud of Class 2's efforts with their singing and performance poetry.

Wishing you all a fabulous Christmas break!
