Grandparents Afternoon - Community

   

Our annual Grandparents Enrichment Afternoon provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate community, belonging and our school value of Care. Bringing together children and grandparents from across the school, the afternoon highlighted the importance of learning from one another, building relationships and making a positive difference within our wider community.

Working collaboratively in our school houses, children and their grandparents created a range of kindness-themed crafts, including kindness jars, decorated pebbles, bookmarks and wooden kindness discs. Each creation carried messages of friendship, compassion and encouragement, reflecting our belief that even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact.

The event also formed part of our Harvest celebrations, with grandparents generously contributing donations for our local food bank. The kindness crafts made during the afternoon will accompany these donations, helping to spread joy, hope and kindness to members of our local community. This meaningful connection between our school and the food bank allowed children to see how acts of care can extend beyond our school gates and support others.

Throughout the afternoon, there was a real sense of togetherness as generations worked side by side, shared stories and created lasting memories. The event perfectly demonstrated how our school community lives out the value of Care, showing kindness, respect and support for one another while strengthening our sense of belonging.

We would like to thank all of the grandparents who joined us and helped make the afternoon such a memorable and meaningful occasion. Their generosity, enthusiasm and support helped to make a real difference to our school and wider community.
