Gardening 2024-2025
One of our school's priorities is to ensure that we focus on sustainability and biodiversity in order to enhance our wonderful outdoor spaces. Over the past 3 years, our children have had the opportunity to be part of developing our green spaces around our beautiful village school. As a result, we now have a wonderful gardening area for everyone to use as part of their learning and as part of our mental health and well-being initiatives. This has all been made possible with the tremendous support from our PTA and volunteer parents and grandparents who come into school frequently to work with our children to plant flowers around our outdoor areas.
During 2023 our children have had the opportunity to take part in two key gardening events in the Cheshire area - Arley Hall and the RHS Tatton Garden Show. With the support of staff and parent volunteers, we were able to take some of the children to the shows to help build our school exhibits. This opportunity has enabled the children to understand the importance of biodiversity and sustainability as well as how to work as part of a team.
We have also been involved in the Arley Hall Christmas Tree event this year where our Parent Governor Mrs Woods and members of our weekly Craft club worked creatively to design a tree based on a Reading for Pleasure theme.
